Toyota Canada Excels in August, Thanks in Part to its Electrified Offerings
September 09 2025,

Toyota Canada continues to prove its strength with solid, consistent sales that are representative of the desire for diversity among Canadian consumers. In August, the company once again recorded remarkable results with a total of 21,848 vehicles sold, an increase of 14.4% compared to August 2024.
This success is largely based on the strong demand for electrified vehicles, which now represent a record 49.1% of the brand's total sales in the country. Think about it, that's one out of every two models!
As for the models bearing the Toyota logo, the results are precisely 19,346 units sold. This represents a 16% increase compared to the same period last year, with an electrified share of 48%.
These results highlight the relevance of the brand's diversification strategy, starting with the record-breaking hybrid offering.
For example, the Camry sedan, exclusively hybrid, shows a spectacular year-over-year increase of 148.4%, thanks to 1,073 units sold in one month, an all-time record for this model.

The Corolla hybrid also achieved a feat with a jump of 80%, or 1,267 units sold, a new record for the month of August. For its part, the Prius PHEV hybrid continues to impress and be as regular as clockwork, with 1,133 units sold, up 38%, again in comparison with August 2024.
Hybrid trucks and SUVs also performed very well. The Tacoma hybrid saw an increase of 44.9%, while the Sienna minivan (also exclusively hybrid) also achieved its best August ever with an increase of +7.4%.
And let's not forget the RAV4, which is proudly assembled in Canada and particularly popular with drivers in the Gatineau region, which sold 6,351 units in August, an increase of 16%.
At Lexus, electrification plays an even more important role, as 57.6% of the 2,505 vehicles sold were hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or all-electric. This is a 3.4% jump compared to 2024.
The RX SUV was very popular with buyers with 961 units sold (+11.2%), while its plug-in version broke a record in August (+38.8%).
Conclusion
These figures clearly show that Toyota has mastered the art of meeting the expectations of Canadian consumers by offering a diversified and high-performing electrified range.
And with a lineup that is constantly being renewed and reinvented, the future looks just as interesting. To discover the latest hybrid and electrified models from Toyota, come see us today at Toyota Gatineau.
